(Telecompaper) Asus announced at the IFA show in Berlin that its ZenWatch 2 will launch in Europe in October starting at EUR 149. First announced in June, Asus's second smartwatch adds an optional 18-mm band to the original Zenwatch and a choice of three stainless-steel case colours, 18 different strap material and colour combinations and over 50 different watch faces. Users can also design their own watch face with the accompanying FaceDesigner smartphone app. The watch runs Android Wear and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection against scratches and damage. When synced with an Android or iOS smartphone, the ZenWatch 2 supports a range of notifications, using included apps such as Asus ZenUI, Business Helper, FoneHelper, Remote Camera and ZenWatch Message. Asus said it also improved the battery on the new model, promising up to two days of use on a single charge. In addition, the watch also comes with a redesigned Wellness smartphone app, built-in pedometer and workout coaching feature to track fitness activities.
