Australian Broadcasting Corporation: BRENDAN TREMBATH: The Bureau of Meteorology says 2013 was Australia's hottest on record, and data just released indicates the year was one of the hottest ever for the globe. US scientists say that for the 37th year in a row, last year's global temperatures were above average.
