Australia's NBN nearly doubles footprint in year to June

(Telecompaper) NBN Co, the company rolling out Australia's broadband network, has announced that, in the 12 months ended 30 June 2017, the number of premises ready for service almost doubled from 2.9 million to 5.7 million, exceeding the 2017 Corporate Plan target of 5.4 million. The number of homes and businesses with an active NBN service more than doubled from 1.1 million to 2.4 million. With the increase in end users, revenue more than doubled from AUD 421 million to AUD 1 billion. The 2017 Corporate Plan target was set at AUD 900 million.
