(Telecompaper) The Austrian Administrative Court rejected the appeal of T-Mobile against the results of the LTE frequency auction in 2013. The case is now final, with no further appeal possible. T-Mobile appealed the auction due to the high prices that resulted for 4G spectrum licences. 3 Austria had also appealed, but withdrew its complaint last summer. Infrastructure minister Alois Stoeger was pleased with the ruling, which paves the way for the government to devote EUR 1 billion from the proceeds to investment in broadband expansion. The Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT) will next discuss practical measures with stakeholders. The aim is to release the tender in the spring of next year. The BMVIT will allocate funding of EUR 300 million in 2015. The objective is to supply all citizens with ultra fast internet of 100 Mbps by 2020.
