(Telecompaper) Austrian telecom control commission TKK has published a tender for the allocation of spectrum in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 1,800 MHz bands. This signals the start of the multi-band auction scheduled for September 2013. A total of 28 frequency blocks of 2x5 MHz each are available. The TKK is reserving two 800 MHz frequency blocks for a new market player. This new entrant will also be able to take over base station sites, buy 2.6 GHz spectrum and use national roaming. The TKK has set minimum bids of EUR 526 million for the spectrum, including EUR 45.6 million for the spectrum reserved for a new market player.
