Global automakers dominated a third annual study of global green brands conducted by Interbrand and Deloitte, with Toyota once again taking the top spot.
Automakers made five of the top 10, and four more made the top 50, with Nissan and Ford honored for moving up the most on the list since last year.
Study digs into rankings companies get for environmental perception among consumer and compares it to those companies actual environmental performance.
Interbrand did extensive research on public perception of brand's sustainable or green practices.
Compared that to environmental sustainability performance data provided by Deloitte data that is based upon publicly available information.
Automakers were praised for their commitment to sustainability the report acknowledges their commitment to electric vehicles, producing cleaner vehicles, and influencing consumers to make more responsible choices
