BIO applauded Representatives Robert Hurt (R-VA) and Terri Sewell (D-AL) for introducing Small Company Disclosure Simplification Act, which reforms existing eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) compliance regime to reduce regulatory burden on small businesses. As BIO President and CEO, Jim Greenwood thanked Hurt and Sewell and said "exempting EGCs from XBRL compliance...removes an expensive bureaucratic roadblock from the path of emerging biotech issuers."
