BT announces new products, services; confirms new 'Beyond Limits' brand identity

(Telecompaper) BT Group has announced the launch of new products and services, including 5G mobile services, as well as new skills programmes to help create a better connected UK. This will be supported by the launch of a new brand identity to reflect its new 'Beyond Limits' strategy. This new identity will be unveiled with an internal and external campaign launching from Friday 18 October.

Orange France launches Livebox 5 with revamped broadband offers

(Telecompaper) Orange France announced the launch of a new version of its Livebox router, highlighting its eco-friendly credentials. The Livebox 5 will be available with the operator's Livebox Up broadband packages and Open Up quad-play bundles. It will provide a maximum download speed of up to 2 Gbps (up to 600 Mbps upload), double what the Livebox 4 currently supports. Among its main features, 'Smart WiFi' enables the router to reduce interference caused by neighbouring Wi-Fi signals to ensure an improved speed performance.

AT&T sells Puerto Rico, USVI assets to Liberty Latin America for USD 1.95 bln

(Telecompaper) AT&T has agreed to sell its operations in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands to Liberty Latin America for USD 1.95 billion in cash, confirming earlier reports. In a statement, the US operator said it expects the deal to close within 6 to 9 months following review by the FCC and the Department of Justice. It added that the sale includes network assets, leases and real estate, 1.1 million mobile subscribers and contracts. A total of 1,300 current AT&T employees will move over to Liberty Latin America at the close of the deal.
