Black & Decker will pay $1.6 million to settle claims it violated the Consumer Product Safety Act after receiving complaints about electric lawn mowers running when they should have been switched off. Black & Decker will pay nearly $1.6 million to settle claims it violated federal reporting requirements covering electric lawn mowers it manufactured that would not shut off and that started on their own.
