(Telecompaper) SGP Technologies, the joint venture behind the privacy oriented Blackphone, has announced that the world's first security-focused app store will be launched as part of the latest update to the phone's PrivatOS customised Android operating system. The company described PrivatOS 1.1, due early next year, as a "real game changer" for the brand. It will include a new feature called Spaces, which gives users the ability to create separate self-contained 'spaces' for apps, data and accounts on the same device. Spaces can also separate work life from personal life, with users creating a parents-only space and a child-friendly one. In addition, a "Silent Space" has been developed together with Graphite Software and will include the Silent Suite of apps for encrypted communication. The company said the Blackphone app store will feature the most secure privacy-optimised apps on the market and that several pre-loaded apps will be immediately available with the latest PrivatOS update released in early 2015.
