"There was a surprising bond tender today which went very well, this seems to have contributed to the small rally," Commonwealth Bank of Australia fixed income quantitative strategist Philip Brown said. The Federal Open Market Committee is expected to keep rates unchanged as it assesses the impacts of recent turbulence in global financial markets.
