Cathode ray tubes (CRTs) typically found in old televisions and computer monitors contain lead and other dangerous chemicals that makes disposal illegal and recycling difficult. As such, the Consumer Electronics Association has issued a challenge to individuals and businesses that can come up with marketable solutions for reclaiming and reusing CRTs.
