COOL repeal passes House

The House of Representatives on a strong bipartisan vote of 300-131 passed legislation (H.R. 3293) to repeal country of origin labeling (COOL) requirements for beef, pork, and chicken.  Congress needs to pass legislation to bring the U.S. into compliance with the recent WTO ruling or the U.S. could face over $3.6 billion per year in tariffs on various products including beef, pork, corn, ethanol, wine, cherries, and various manufactured items that Canada and Mexico have announced.  read more
