Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver has weathered many challenges in his two decades as one of Albany's most powerful leaders, including a coup attempt and his protection of members and staff accused of sexual harassment and rape. Mr. Silver now faces another threat: Southern District U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who is reportedly probing years of outside income from tax-certiorari law firm Goldberg & Iryami that Mr. Silver, an attorney, failed to report.
