About 245 workers at the Ambrosia chocolate plant in Milwaukee will move onto the payroll of Cargill Corp. through the close of a deal between the Minneapolis-based food processing company and Archer Daniels Midland Co. Cargill said Friday that the European Commission granted conditional clearance for the $440 million purchase from ADM announced in September 2014, the final regulatory hurdle for the transaction that includes the Ambrosia cocoa processing plant at 12500 W. Carmen Ave. Cargill acquires ADM's chocolate business, including plants in Pennsylvania, the U.K., Belgium and Germany.
