Cashes Ledge off table in ocean preservation debate

President Barack Obama no longer is considering national monument status for a mountainous underwater area known as Cashes Ledge, members of a White House council told leaders of New Bedford's fishing industry Thursday, drawing praise from fishermen engaged in ongoing ocean preservation debates. “I think it's great news,” said Jon Williams, president of Atlantic Red Crab Co.
