Charges have been dropped against John Cupo, a Bayonne school board candidate who was accused of ripping down 17 campaign signs in support of another board candidate in November, according to the prosecutor in the case. William Opel, city Assistant Corporation Counsel, said the matter was dismissed last week because "the evidence available to the state was insufficient to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt."
