Jim Koch , the affable, brew-toting chairman of the maker of Sam Adams beers, has been granted permission to sell about 50,000 shares as part of a broader stock-buyback plan authorized by the company . The value of those soon-to-be-sold-shares is approximately $13 million, based on today's opening price of $263.95.
