China Telecom COO Jie promoted to chairman, CEO

(Telecompaper) China Telecom has appointed Yang Jie as its chairman and CEO, effective immediately. Jie's appointment is valid until the AGM of the company for the year 2016 to be held in 2017. Jie has been promoted from his role as China Telecom president and COO, which he has held since 2011. China Telecom has also appointed Yang Xiaowei as its president and COO, effective immediately. Xiaowei previously served as China Telecom's executive vice-president.
