Sydney Morning Herald: China has become a "wild card" for global coal markets as its demand for the fossil fuel ebbs and it helps drive a worldwide rush into renewable energy sources, the International Energy Agency says.
In its closely watched World Energy Outlook report for 2015, the agency projects coal will account for just 10 per cent of any increase in global energy demand out to 2040, far shy of the fuel's 45 per cent contribution over the past decade.
