According to the Federal Communications Commission , Cincinnati Bell has accepted $2,229,130 in annual, ongoing support from the Connect America Fund to expand and support its broadband services to 14,000 rural customers. The funding will allow the company to provide broadband speeds of at least 10 Mbps downloads and 1 Mbps uploads to more than 7,000 homes and businesses in rural areas where the cost of broadband networks might otherwise be prohibitive.
