(Telecompaper) Dominican Republic telecoms regulator Indotel has awarded spectrum in the 941-960 MHz and 1755MHz/2110-2155 MHz frequency bands to Claro and Orange/Altice for a total price of USD 70.5 million (approximately DOP 3 billion). Claro won 40 MHz of spectrum (C and D blocks) in the 1700-2100 MHz (AWS) frequency bands, while Orange won 19 MHz of spectrum in the 900 MHz band. Orange completed the sale of its Dominican Republic unit to Altice in April.
