Guardian: Ahead of the COP21 climate conference in Paris, an estimated 40,000 festive protesters marched in Sydney on Sunday calling on Australia to play a lead role in brokering binding carbon emissions targets for the world to keep global temperature rise below 2C. The marchers, who ranged in age from the very young to the elderly, were among more than 600,000 people who took to the streets in 175 countries around the world to call for a strong deal in Paris
