Coating Protects Lithium-Metal Electrodes From Corrosion
2015-06-01 19:50:08| Semiconductors - Topix.net
After soaking for seven days in a sulfur solution, a 2- by 2-cm lithium-metal foil coated with aluminum oxide shows no corrosion, whereas unprotected lithium-metal foil shows heavy corrosion. Lithium-metal battery anodes can store 10-fold more energy by weight than those in today's best batteries, but they have been too unstable to be practical.
