The Public Integrity Alliance is taking its fight against Corporation Commission Chairman Susan Bitter Smith to the next level, now seeking federal corruption charges against the utility regulator. The complaint is addressed to the United States Attorney for the District of Arizona and alleges that Bitter Smith's roles as a lobbyist for Cox Communications and the head of the Southwest Cable Communications Association while serving as the Chairman of the Commission, which regulates the telecommunications industry, amounts to 'Honest Services Fraud.'
