Continental Cashed In Its Hedges. Now What?

Last quarter Continental Resources made a big move by monetizing its hedge book for some $433 million. Continental's hedging contracts, in which counterparties agreed to pay over $90 per barrel no matter the going price, have become more and more valuable as the price of oil has dropped and dropped.
