Part of Thunderbolt™ single port peripheral reference design, Model TPS65980 integrates all power management functions to meet power requirements for Thunderbolt bus-powered devices, such as hard drives, solid state drives, and audio/video solutions. IC supplies up to 3.5 A of output current, supporting bus-powered endpoint devices up to 10 W at over 90% efficiency. Automatic thermal shut-off and power sequencing provide additional flexibility.
