DeSoto County sees garbage collection fees drop

Ray Laughter, the county's environmental manager, tells The Commercial Appeal that annual rate adjustments are built into the county contract with Waste Connections Inc. Laughter says there will be a savings of about $1,300 on collection rates at 26 facilities served by the contract. That includes parks, county-owned buildings, central maintenance barns and the jail.
