Digitel suspends int'l services due to currency crisis

2016-04-11 09:48:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Venezuelan operator Digitel has indefinitely suspended its international long distance and roaming services for fixed and mobile telephony due to the impossibility of canceling the contracts signed with partners abroad, reports El Impulso. The decision taken by the operator is due to the increased costs as a result of the entry into force of floating currency rates applied to the telecommunications sector, which requires the updating of prices of international services.
