A new five-year dredging project is being proposed to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for approximately 20 acres on the shores of Lake Superior in the village of Gay in Keweenaw County. Greensands, Inc. submitted a proposal to the M.D.E.G. Water Resources Division to dredge at an old mill site to remove and relocate existing stamp sands that were deposited there in the early 1900s.
