Duke Energy tests drones as maintenance aids at power plants

Since Monday, Duke Energy has been flying drones around its Marshall Steam Station as part of a pilot to determine if the unmanned aircraft can be used to help troubleshoot maintenance problems at its plants. Aleksander Vukojevic , technology development manager of Duke's Emerging Technologies Office, says his office has worked for more than a year preparing for the brief tryout for the drones this week.
