EPA Adds Five, Proposes Three Hazardous Waste Sites to Superfund's National Priorities List

EPA is adding 5 hazardous waste sites that pose risks to human health and the environment to the National Priorities List of Superfund sites. They are located in Elkhart, IN; Houma, LA; Newark, NJ; Harleysville, PA; and Bennington VT. In addition, agency is proposing to add 3 additional sites to the list. These include Birmingham AL; Kokomo, IN; and Gibraltar, MI. Superfund program investigates and cleans up the most complex, uncontrolled or abandoned hazardous waste sites in the country.
