These models now utilize a substantially thinner chassis in addition to Ivy Bridge low-voltage processors. The refreshed 17R model 5721 is built around a 17.3-inch 1600x900 screen, but measures just 1.12-1.4 inches thin and 6 lbs. Not bad for under $600.
