Earth Day 2015: Giant Eagle to significantly reduce water consumption

Giant Eagle, Inc., one of the nation's largest food retailers and distributors, has announced that it is celebrating Earth Day 2015 with a commitment to reduce water consumption by 5 percent by July 2017, resulting in an anticipated conservation of millions of gallons of water. According to Jan Eliasson, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, demand for water is projected to rise by an estimated 40 percent by 2050.
