(Telecompaper) Ebay reported revenues up 14 percent to USD 3.75 billion and an enabled commerce volume up 19 percent to USD 48.8 billion in the first quarter, compared with the first quarter of 2012. Net profit rose 19 percent to USD 677 million. The company's PayPal operations saw revenues grow 18 percent to USD 1.5 billion in the quarter, with net total payment volumes up 21 percent to USD 41 billion, driven by merchant and consumer use both on and off eBay. The Marketplaces business increased revenue 13 percent to USD 2 billion as it gained 3.9 million active users in the quarter, reaching 116 million at the end of March.
