(Telecompaper) Eight private operators including Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, RCom, Reliance Jio and Uninor have submitted applications to bid for spectrum in the auction starting 4 March. Aircel and Tata Teleservices will also bid for spectrum, while Sistema Shyam Teleservices has announced it will not participate in the tender because of the high base price and legal issue with India's Department of Telecom (DoT). Videocon Telecom did not submit an application either. "Applications from Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular, Reliance Communications, Aircel, Reliance Jio Infocom, Uninor and Tata Teleservices have submitted their forms," a Department of Telecom official told PTI.
