U.S. and more than 50 countries have reached final agreement on the pace of tariff reduction and elimination for products being added to the WTO Information Technology Agreement as of July 1, 2016. Under terms of expansion agreement, the U.S., EU, China, Japan, Korea, and others will progressively eliminate customs import duties on more than 200 types of information and communication technology products, including variable frequency drives, smart meters, and medical equipment.
