Encryption Lets NSA Store Your Email Forever

If you want to prolong your email's stay with the NSA, just encrypt it. Among the documents leaked by whistleblower Edward Snowden is one describing the National Security Agency's treatment of communication it intercepts authored by U.S. citizens. In short, if the domestic communication is in plain text, it has a five-year shelf life. If it's encrypted, though, the agency can keep it forever.
