Blue and Green: A new study conducted by the University of Edinburgh has concluded that global carbon emissions would be significantly reduced if deforestation in the tropics were minimised. The study published in the journal Global Change Biology -- is the first of its kind. The scientists behind it calculated the total amount of carbon absorbed by the rainforests and the total amount of greenhouse emissions created by the lack of them.
