Energy M&A value surges in Q2 thanks to one big deal

The value of energy-related mergers and acquisitions in the second quarter hit the highest level since the end of 2012, but the number of M&A deals was the lowest in years. According to a new report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration , the total value of energy M&A deals announced last quarter was $115 billion - the highest since the fourth quarter of 2012.
