Energy companies show increased interest in Pittsburg County

The McAlester News-Capital reports that PetroQuest Energy, BP America Production Company and XTO Energy, Inc. have notified the public and other companies about hearings scheduled with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, so people have time to protest any permits that may be issued. About 80 legal notices have been issued in Pittsburg County since mid-January, highlighting increased interest in the area by the energy industry.
