Ethanol-blended petrol to cost more

2014-09-23 10:52:38| Sugar Industry News

MUMBAI: The government's emphasis on blending ethanol with petrol is going to pinch consumers in the coming months as ethanol prices have zoomed ahead of petrol. The government's 'Green Initiative' has apparently turned into a 'Save Sugar Industry' drive as the oil marketing companies have been asked to procure the sugar industry's byproduct at more than 10% of the prevailing petrol price. But this hasn't improved the ethanol supplies to the industry.
