Update: CEO Rex Tillerson of Irving-based Exxon Mobil said today that "I'm been extraordinarily disappointed in my home state," given Republican leaders' entrenched opposition to the Common Core curriculum standards championed by business leaders and the US Department of Education. GOP leaders from Texas and elsewhere, including Sen. Ted Cruz and Texas Gov, Rick Perry, have railed against Common Core as a massive intrusion by the federal government into decision making by state and local education officials.
