FAA Invests in New Logan Airport Runway Safety Improvements

FAA and Massachusetts Port Authority unveiled 2 safety enhancements to Logan Airport's longest runway. Totaling $50 million, FAA Airport Improvement Project (AIP) grants helped fund crushable concrete safety area, which includes 300 ft wide concrete pier that extends 470 ft into Boston Harbor at end of Runway 33L, to prevent planes from overrunning runway.
