Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is updating conditions for flying unmanned aircraft 15–30 miles from Washington, DC. As of 12:01 am EST on February 10, operating procedures will allow model aircraft, commercial, and public users to operate in outer ring of Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA) under specific conditions. SFRA rule still prohibits unmanned aircraft operations within 15 miles of Washington, DC in Flight Restricted Zone without specific FAA authorization.
