FAA has asked world's fuel producers to submit proposals for fuel options that would help general aviation (GA) industry make transition to unleaded fuel. FAA will assess viability of candidate fuels in terms of their impact on existing fleet, their production and distribution infrastructure, their impact on environment and toxicology, and economic considerations. Fuel producers are asked to submit data packages for candidate replacement unleaded fuel formulations by July 1, 2014.
