FCC allocates USD 9.2 bln for rural broadband, including USD 886 million to SpaceX

(Telecompaper) The FCC has awarded USD 9.2 billion to companies who took part in an auction to bring broadband internet to rural areas in the US. A total of 180 bidders won auction support, to be distributed over the coming ten years. The goal is bring broadband with speeds of at least 100/20 Mbps to the areas.
