FedEx workers watch for their designated packages slowly moving down a long conveyor belt to load into trucks for delivery on the busiest shipping day of the year, Monday, Dec. 15, 2014 at the FedEx facility in San Francisco, Calif. The next week will be a 24/7, backbreaking, sleep-deprived haul for couriers such as FedEx, the United Parcel Service and the U.S. Postal Service, the last connections to deliver many much-anticipated Christmas gifts.
