While feedyard biosecurity has been on the radar ever since the 2001 outbreak of foot and mouth disease in England, the issue took on a higher level of scrutiny recently. Ever since the outbreak of foot and mouth disease nearly decimated Englands animal agricultural industry, feedyard biosecurity has been an issue. But for the most part, efforts by state livestock associations and regional emergency management officials have been conducted under the radar.
