FirstEnergy Corp. is spending tens of millions of dollars in new security measures to thieves who take metal - especially copper - from its substations. The Akron-based electric utility gave extensive details about its new fencing and monitoring systems, including fences with holes too small for bolt cutters, thermal-imaging cameras and loudspeakers.
